The annual programme

We run a five-day programme of activities for Year 12 students attending schools in Oxfordshire who are interested in brain research and are planning to go to university. Students can choose between two streams: 1) The science of mental health; and 2) Investigating the brain in health and disease.

The programme gives students the chance to learn from practising scientists and may include:

  • a project using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)
  • a project using magnetoencephalography (MEG)
  • short talks about the neuroscience and psychiatry research going on at Oxford
  • mini projects on ophthalmology, sleep, cellular neuroscience and eye movements
