I have worked at the Centre for Research on Eating Disorders for over a decade. As a trial therapist and clinician my role is to develop and provide evidence-based treatments for patients with all forms of eating disorders.
My research is focused on improving the dissemination of evidence-based psychological treatments for patients. Despite there now being a number of these treatments available, few patients receive them. By enabling greater access to training and treatment, the internet may offer a solution to this problem.
The current projects that I am involved with are: 1) designing and building web-based therapist training programs in the fields of eating disorders and depression and 2) creating online treatment programs for individuals with eating disorders. This work is funded through a Strategic Award from the Wellcome Trust.
