My major interest is in the utility of human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology for disease modelling and drug discovery applications for neurological disorders. I have expertise in establishing in vitro models of neurovascular cell types from patient iPSCs to model Alzheimer’s disease, migraine and cerebellar ataxia. Many neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental conditions critically involve crosstalk between neural and vascular components. Neurovascular models would help in establishing robust disease-relevant phenotype and enable setting up physiologically relevant in vitro assays at the earliest stages of drug discovery.

I am currently working on Oxford Science Innovation funded human centric drug discovery project to construct cell-based phenotypic assays using patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells and establish high throughput screening platform to identify novel therapetic target for migraine.
