Paul Greig

Clinical Research Fellow

Paul has worked with Nuffield Division of Anaesthetics for 7 years, completing his anaesthetic training in the Oxford Deanery. On completion of his anaesthetic training he has joined the OxSTaR team as Clinical Lecturer in Anaesthesia and will be reading for his DPhil with the University of Oxford while working part-time as a consultant anaesthetist with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Paul's own research interests focus on human factors, particularly the development of situational awareness, and the use of electronic media to deliver educational material. Paul is also the Chief Investigator for the StART trial; a randomised controlled trial designed to investigate the benefits of using simulation teaching to enhance novice anaesthetic trainees' basic introduction to the specialty.

As well as being an established trainer for the OxSTaR courses, Paul is an instructor for Advanced Life Support (ALS), Acute Life-threatening Emergencies: Recognition and Treatment (ALERT), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Managing Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma (MOET) and the Generic Instructors Course (GIC).
