My research focuses on the epidemiology of stroke and myocardial infarction.

I work on the Oxford Vascular Study, which started in 2002 and is ongoing. The study aims to improve understanding of acute vascular events (stroke, TIA, myocardial infarction and acute aortic and peripheral vascular events) by collecting detailed information about all events which happen in our study population of around 90,000 Oxfordshire residents.  The results show us who has these vascular events and what happens to them afterwards, and how that is changing over time.
