It is with great sadness that we report that Larry Weiskrantz passed away over the weekend.

Larry was the Chair in Experimental Psychology and head of the department between 1967 and 1993. He fought energetically and successfully to empower psychology as a scientific discipline at Oxford, and lead the Department of Experimental Psychology into its modern age. Larry remains a giant in the field. Through his pioneering integrative approach, he made seminal breakthroughs, convincingly demonstrating the existence of implicit long-term memories, introducing the phenomenon of blindsight, and much more.

We will keep you informed of events to celebrate his life and achievements.

BNA Past-President, Professor John Aggleton pays tribute to Larry.

We shall remain forever grateful to Larry for all his dedication and contributions to our department. We will miss him.

- Kia Nobre, Head of the Department of Experimental Psychology
