2026 Brain & Mental Health Sciences Fellowships: invitation to apply

Applications are invited for the Brain & Mental Health Sciences Fellowships, a scheme designed to support promising early- and mid-career researchers. The fellowships provide protected time to develop a research portfolio towards a successful externally funded fellowship, or to build a sustainable independent programme of research.
The scheme is open to clinical and non-clinical researchers working in the broad field of brain and mental health sciences who hold a departmental affiliation within the University of Oxford. In making awards, the panel will take account of career stage and trajectory, including delays or disruption to career progression due to personal circumstances.
Salary support for up to four years and research expenses are available, with research costs of up to £25,000 per year considered, depending on need.

Applications should be submitted as a single Word or PDF document using the application form provided. Please read the full call for applications before applying and send any queries to valerie.west@psych.ox.ac.uk

Deadline: Monday 20 July 2026, midday
