David Bennett, Professor of Neurology and Neurobiology, in the Nuffield Dept of Clinical Neurosciences has been appointed to the MRC Neuroscience and Mental Health Board. This is an important role and it’s great that someone with such excellent scientific judgement and integrity will be serving the MRC. David will take up his position in April joining Zoltan Molnar and Trevor Sharp on the Board.

David’s research aim is to gain a better understanding of the response of the nervous system to injury in order to develop strategies to promote peripheral nerve repair and to prevent the development of neuropathic pain. This is complementary to his clinical interest in peripheral neuropathy and as such links with the specialist neuropathy clinical service at the Oxford University Hospitals.
