Deep Brain Stimulation for Pain

Part of my work is to analyse data generated by neurosurgery to get a global view of DBS results. Then, neurosurgeons have all the cards to determine the best way to relieve patients from their pain.

I'm also in charge of a research project investigating DBS side-effects. Stimulating new targets in the brain provides new opportunities to help patients, but could also have some unexpected impacts on their life. We're then aiming at investigating alterations in patients' personality. Our findings would lead us to adapt their treatment, limiting potential side-effects.
