Analyses of data from field studies of baboons (genus Papio) show that observers tend to select the largest groups available to them in their study populations up to a limiting group size of about 80-100 animals. This is likely to introduce significant biasses into eco-correlate analyses whenever group size is an important independent variable. © 1982 Japan Monkey Centre.
