Roi Cohen Kadosh from Experimental Psychology has won the British Psychological Society's Spearman Medal for outstanding contributions to psychology. Roi’s work focuses on understanding mathematical abilities in children and adults. The award recognises the most promising early-career work from Psychologists in the UK. Past winners associated with Oxford include Anne Treisman, Glyn Humphreys and Kate Nation.
Albert Joseph, a final year medical student who undertook research on MS pathology under the supervision of Gabriel De Luca in NDCN has been awarded the prestigious Whitaker Prize for excellence in MS Research. Albert was invited, along with the other finalists, to deliver a 10 minute platform presentation on his research at the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centres Annual meeting in Dallas, Texas. He was competing against consultant neurologists, post-doctoral and clinical fellows, and faculty from renowned institutions such as Johns Hopkins University and the University of Calgary. Despite being the most junior, Albert won the prize and received a $5,000 at the formal award ceremony.
