© Oxford University Press, 2014. This chapter proposes transient tritanopia as an effective method for locating an individual's tritan line. The method has several practical advantages. Firstly, the procedure can be carried out using a CRT, without the need to construct a uniform auxiliary field. Secondly, it allows almost free choice of the spatial properties of the stimulus so that the experimenter can determine the tritan line for the exact retinal region to be used in a subsequent experiment.
